A Day in Aboriginal Culture

The day we went to the aboriginal village I learned so much about their culture.  As a class we threw boomerangs and spears. I did not do as well as I had hoped… My boomerang skills were a bit lacking. I threw three boomerangs into the grass and a spear into a tree. It was so fun watching the others trying the activities, too. After that we saw a authentic aboriginal dance. It was really cool to hear their language and to see how the aboriginal people interact with the land. We heard the different sounds of the didgeridoo and all the types of animal noises you can make with it.  My favorite part of the day was when we got to paint rocks in an aboriginal style. We also got to have our faces painted with awesome aboriginal designs in yellow, red, white and black. It was overall a great day with culture and adventure. – Caroline Anderson
